Our profile this month highlights the non-profit Newark Science and Sustainability (Newark SAS). Their primary mission is to increase access to fresh, healthy food in Newark through urban agriculture and community gardening. A combination of their business model, a farm to table co-op which delivers produce boxes directly to consumers, and their ability to take advantage of grant programs that help them expand their mission has helped them become a massively impactful and positive force for the local community. With the establishment of their new headquarters, they hope to further their goals for the future.
